New Copeland Borough Council Website - Consultation

We need your helpWe would like to give you a better experience when you use the copeland.gov.uk website so we are planning a few changes. Here we will tell you about the changes that we are planning and ask for your opinion and ideas, at each step of the way.

We want to create a website that uses the latest technology, is easily accessible from mobile phones and other devices and allows you to do more, quicker and easier.

Before we start, we would like to know what you think is important. Please take a few minutes to complete our survey. Your answers will help to determine what the new website will offer and how we prioritise the changes.

Do check back here at regular intervals and leave your comments and suggestions as we go through the different stages of the web redevelopment project. We want to ensure that our new website is right for you.

All comments will be moderated and will then be visible to anyone that reads this site. Suggestions, on the other hand, will be sent directly to the project team and will not be published here.

Thank you

I was surprised that the website didn't have the bin collection rota on it over Christmas

Also - it always surprises me that you don't include all planning applications on your site as do the LDNPA - http://www.lakedistrict.gov.uk/swiftlg/apas/run/wphappcriteria.display

I think it would be helpful to have
-something on the hompage showing open consultations etc
-the top item/headline to be no more than 2 days old
and i'll have a think about the rest and get back to you. Thanks

Contact details for councillors currently appear in both <members details> and <councillors information> but each does not entirely duplicate the other. All details for all councillors in one place please, showing where a councillor does not make use of a particular mode of contact, eg email or mobile phone.

Thank you for your comment. We hope to take this on board and provide you with an improved service which you will be able to access quickly and easily on the new website.

Members/councillors should all have access to e-mail!

It would be helpful if there was a weekly events/meetings calendar on the front page that showed what's happening in the next seven days. They're relatively easy to set up and you could basically link it to the council meetings - quick reference for anyone who wants to know what's going on.

Thanks for the comment. We will be looking at building this in to the new site as we realise people would find an events calendar helpful.
